Juana seemed to have it all. She had finally reached that important position she had been looking for in the company she was working with. And she also knew she could reach other professional goals and even fame. However, when she moved to a new city because of her job, she felt the need to "move" in more than one sense. She started traveling, getting away from it all… but, even though she had been dreaming about it during her whole life, it seemed that it was not enough nor were the relationships she would develop on the way. Her life was a constant emotional roller coaster, driven mainly by the influence of the exterior, of others, of the struggle between the "must be" and the "to be." And so, on her deep inner journey, she started realizing that what she actually needed was simply to live.Mercedes Ciccociopo (Buenos Aires, 1978) is a civil engineer from Universidad de Buenos Aires, coach, traveler and writer. Review
About Muiños de Vento"Memories of a Centaur" could be compared to the novel "Eat, Pray, Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert, both cases about women that left behind their former lives (jobs, homes and even marriages) in order to undertake a journey that lead them to their inner selves. And they both progress along this path mainly through relationships. In Juana's case, the main character of "Memories of a Centaur", she didn't have her destinations planned in advanced, as Liz did. But the main difference in Juana's case is that at the end of the story, she is still single. It doesn't end like most stories usually do with a relationship and a "happily ever after" but this woman ends simply living, with all that implies; with moments of company, others of loneliness, with ups and downs, but accepting that life is just that: constant change.
