Pascal was a 17th-century child prodigy. He was born in Rouen and by the age of just 13 was already one of the leading mathematicians in France. This book focuses mainly on his letters, written to and about the Jesuits. Pascal was a devotee of the Jansenists (a group within the Catholic faith) and was strongly opposed to Jesuit views.
