Two-time Christy Award finalist Stephanie Grace Whitson's Pine Ridge Portraits series, based in Fort Robinson Nebraska, is immensely popular. Now it's World War II, and a group of Nazi POWs has been brought to Fort Robinson. The townsfolk, already heartworn from the loss of many men, are divided in their feelings about the prisoners.
