Red Eve represents the Battle of Crécy and the Black Death, as well as Murgh, a mythical manifestation of Death. Sir Henry Rider Haggard KBE is a pioneer of the lost world literary genre and a British adventure fiction romance writer set in exotic locales, particularly Africa.
